“It’s so watery.”
“Why is there a glob of gunk?”
“It’s leaking out of the cup!”
You hold the coffee cup in your hand while contemplating how to politely ask the underpaid service staff for a new one. Unfortunately, the staff is busy serving the huge crowd during this morning rush, so you leave and cross the street with your excuse of a cup of coffee in hand.
“Look, it’s another coffee shop.”
“Is that tea?”
“People are smiling in there!”
The shop’s name: CloCoffee.
CloCoffee is a small business in Edison, New Jersey, located at 3 Stephenville Parkway. Unlike mainstream coffee shops, CloCoffee does not sacrifice quality for convenience. The equipment used is up to standard and - with water pollution being rampant - CloCoffee uses reverse osmosis water. A variety of coffee types are available, including ones that use oat milk or almond milk for those who are lactose intolerant. Despite the name, they don’t only serve coffee. They serve tea, protein shakes, pastries, and general convenience store items too. Even with the bulk of products they serve, the building is comfortably spacious with multiple seating areas.
A special aspect of this shop that sets it apart is that customers can rent a quiet room. Coffee shops are known for being a place to work silently or meet up with others. Obviously, if both are happening at the same time, this ends up creating an environment that is either too distracting or crowded. CloCoffee solves this issue by having rooms available to relax and work in.
CloCoffee is welcoming. The staff doesn’t yell the order numbers, but brings the drink to each person individually. Visitors are allowed to bring their dogs inside (and sanitation is perfectly maintained). The building is wheelchair accessible. Customers can order online. CloCoffee is a small business with a plethora of features.
The shop opened in March of 2020. Ralph Angeles, the owner of Edison’s CloCoffee, began the shop with a purpose to spread a message: be kind. Angeles praises random acts of kindness. He and his staff make sure customers know that from the sustainable sourcing of coffee beans, wearing shirts that say “Be Kind” on them, and the feedback form they have on their website: CloCoffee Website. We, at Daily D&G, support CloCoffee’s heartwarming message and appreciate the high quality experience of the kindness-infused CloCoffee.
